Select / Private Call

This button-press allows the radio-user to transmit a Conventional - Selective Call or a Trunking - Private Call. The radio user must select the required Contact / Call ID and then press the PTT button to initiate the Call. A Selective / Private Call is typically used when the majority of transmissions are between a dispatcher and a radio-user, or a group of radio-users. Radio IDs can be selected for use in the radio's Call Hot Lists or entered directly by the radio-user. Selective / Private Calls are intended not so much to ensure privacy but rather to eliminate the annoyance of users receiving traffic that does not pertain to them.
